Welcome to the home of the Sled Dog Touring Team, a group of enthusiastic motorcyclists from all over the United States. When it comes to bikes we are a non-denominational group; however, over time our marque of choice has been BMW.

Our base of operations is in Massachusetts, with remote sites in Clayton, North Carolina, Knoxville, Tennessee and San Rafael, California. We currently have approximately 30 active members who can be identified only if they hold a Sled Dog Pin. We have countless associates and friends; we are proud that they display the genuine Sled Dog sticker.

While the history of the Sled Dog Touring Team is the stuff of legend and long-lost brain cells, the story goes that the Team was founded around 1988. The original Sled Dogs were members of the Yankee Beemers, a club formed around the premise of going far and having fun with BMW motorcycles. One day while on tour a new unknown member of the Yankee Beemers showed that having the money to buy a new bike did not guarantee the mental fortitude to handle the bike in difficult situations. After the recovery from a newbie-induced group crash was complete, the Sled Dog Touring Team was born as a way to identify riders who could be counted on to Do the Right Thing in any situation be it on the road or around the campfire.

Sled Dogs serve of the board of national organizations such as the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America, the Yankee Beemers and are involved in putting on events throughout the year.

On two wheels, Sled Dogs have completed the Iron Butt Rally, held class titles in National Enduro competitions and flat track events, and have led their states in various annual mileage surveys.

While the Sled Dogs welcome like-minded individuals, full membership is by invitation only.
